Master agency PlanetOne Communications’ Telecom Tour stopped in Scottsdale, Arizona, Nov. 4-5, with a lineup that included Top Golf, a vendor fair, a golf tournament and a keynote address from local sports hero Anthony Robles.
The event started with a cocktail reception Nov. 4 at Top Golf, with Cloud Connect’s Kyle Rogers taking home the top honors with 1,118 points.
PlanetOne CEO Ted Schuman kicked off the Nov. 5 meeting at Talking Stick Resort bright and early with some good news: 2014 is shaping up to be a record year for the privately held company, with projected 36 percent year-over-year growth.
Schuman acknowledged the company’s preferred vendors: ACC Business, CenturyLink, EarthLink, Evolve IP, inContact, Level 3, Masergy, MegaPath, Nitel, PGi, Telesphere, Telnes, tw telecom, T-Mobile, Windstream and XO Communications. These vendors also showcased their latest products and services during a vendor fair.
The highlight of the day was an inspirational address from Robles, who is a three-time All American and the 2011 NCAA National Wrestling Champion – despite having only one leg. His story left many in the audience tearful, not for his loss, but for his sacrifice and perseverance. His journey and his message – that we shouldn’t give up in the face of challenges – are told in his book, “Unstoppable – From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became A Champion.”
The day ended with a golf tournament and an awards reception in the clubhouse.
